She gazed into the puddle, its surface unusually clear, and for the first time, truly saw herself reflected back. The image felt unfamiliar yet comforting as if she was meeting herself anew. As her eyes lifted, she noticed a path ahead, and there, standing at the edge of it, she saw me. Our eyes met, locking in a moment of silent understanding.
